Wix chatbot: add Kyros to your Wix site

No app, one code snippet: how to add Kyros to your Wix site as a floating chat bubble or an inline frame, with the requirements and pitfalls Wix itself documents.

Create a free accountGo to the steps

You don’t add a Wix chatbot from Kyros through an app: Kyros has no app in the Wix App Market. Instead, you paste a single code snippet into your Wix site. For the floating chat bubble on every page, that’s a <script> tag you add under Settings → Custom Code with the placement “Body – end.” If the chat should sit in a fixed spot on one page, you put Kyros’s <iframe> code into an “Embed HTML” element.

One limitation up front: Wix requires a published site with a connected domain for custom code, and according to Wix you can only connect your own domain on a Premium or Studio site plan. That means you can’t install the floating bubble on a free Wix site.

What a Kyros AI chatbot does on your Wix site

Kyros is a platform for AI assistants that answer from your organization’s web pages. You paste the URLs of the pages the assistant should know, one per line: your services, prices, opening hours and FAQ on Wix, for example, and pages that don’t live on Wix at all. Where exact wording matters, you write Golden answers. When an answer draws on your pages, numbered source links (“Further Links”) appear below it. When your content has no answer, the assistant is instructed to say so.

Kyros does not crawl a whole site or sitemap on its own, and you can’t upload files such as PDFs. It can re-sync the pages you list every 6, 12 or 24 hours or weekly, so changes on your Wix site reach the chat. You set the widget’s colors, font, logo, launcher and position in Kyros, not in Wix.

Floating bubble or inline frame

The floating bubble is the familiar website chat: a launcher in a corner that visitors can open on any page. It needs the Custom Code route. The inline frame shows the chat as a fixed area on a single page, such as your contact or help page; that’s what the “Embed HTML” element is for. Don’t use “Embed HTML” for the bubble: Wix renders the element itself as an iframe, so the bubble would only appear inside that box.

What the floating bubble requires

Wix requires a published site with a connected domain for custom code. According to Wix, you can connect your own domain only after upgrading to a Premium or Studio site plan. So the bubble can’t be installed on a free Wix site. Wix’s help names no plan requirement for the inline frame via “Embed HTML”; we haven’t verified that (as of October 1, 2026).

Install the Wix chatbot as a floating bubble

The Custom Code route puts the chat on every page of your Wix site.

The code for the floating bubble looks like this. Your own code from Kyros contains the values for id and sig; sig is the code’s signature.

<script src="https://kyros.omniratio.de/api/widget?id=…&sig=…&type=chatbot"></script>
  1. In Kyros, open “Install the widget” for your assistant’s chat widget, choose “Floating bubble” and copy the code.
  2. In your Wix site dashboard, go to “Settings” and, under “Development & integrations,” click “Custom Code.”
  3. Click “+ Add Custom Code” at the top right, paste the snippet and give it a name, such as “Kyros chat.”
  4. Under “Add Code to Pages,” choose all pages. Wix lets you load the code once per visit (“Load code once”) or on each page.
  5. Under “Place Code in,” choose “Body – end.”
  6. Set the code’s category deliberately on the “Code Type” tab (see below), then click “Apply.”
  7. Open the published site, reload it and click through a few pages. The bubble should appear on every page.

We haven’t tested whether the bubble stays visible across page changes when Wix loads the code only once per visit. If it disappears after navigating, switch to loading it on each page.

If your Wix account is set to German, the same items are called „Einstellungen“, „Benutzerdefinierter Code“, „Code zu Seiten hinzufügen“, „Code platzieren in“, „Body – Ende“ and „Anwenden“.

Embed the chat as an inline frame on a Wix page

For a chat that stays in one place, such as on your contact page.

  1. In Kyros, open “Install the widget,” choose “Inline frame” and copy the <iframe> code.
  2. Open the page in the Wix Editor and go to “Add Elements” → “Embed Code” → “Popular Embeds” → “Embed HTML.”
  3. Choose “Enter Code,” paste the <iframe> code and click “Apply.”
  4. Drag the element to the size you want. According to Wix, an embed like this doesn’t adapt to screen width on its own, so check both the desktop and the mobile view.
  5. Publish the site and test the chat on the live page.

Wix only displays HTTPS code and URLs in this element; the Kyros code uses HTTPS. Don’t put the floating bubble into “Embed HTML”: the element is itself an iframe, so the bubble would only appear inside that box.

Check before you go live

Four points from Wix’s own documentation that decide whether the install works (as of October 1, 2026).

  • Security rules since December 2025

In December 2025, Wix introduced new frontend security measures for custom code and says some snippets that worked before may now be blocked. Among other things, Wix replaces fetch and XMLHttpRequest with secured versions. Whether this affects the Kyros widget has not been confirmed here. Test it on a published page.

  • Category and consent

Wix categorizes custom code as “essential” by default: it then loads before visitor consent and visitors can’t turn it off. The other categories (Marketing, Analytic and Functional in Wix’s help) load only after consent. You choose the category on the “Code Type” tab of the code dialog. Decide which one fits together with your data protection officer.

  • The code is tied to your domain

Wix associates code snippets with a specific domain. If you assign a different domain to your site, Wix deletes the snippets. Paste the Kyros code again afterward, and add the new domain under “Website access” in Kyros if you have listed domains there.

  • No Wix support for third-party code

For third-party code, Wix refers you to the provider. You can send installation questions via the contact page.

Wix Smart Chat or Kyros: which AI chat fits when

Wix has its own AI chat. Since March 2026, Wix AI Site Chat can no longer be installed on new sites; Wix Smart Chat replaces it as the AI and manual chat solution (as of October 1, 2026).

Wix Smart Chat is enough if …

  • the answers should come from the content of your Wix site. Smart Chat answers from your site content and keeps indexing it.
  • your team should also reply in person in the same chat. Smart Chat combines AI answers with direct replies from your team; Kyros has no live chat and no handoff to staff.
  • you would rather install an app from the Wix App Market (“Add to Site”) than paste code. Wix’s Smart Chat article states no plan or language requirements.

Kyros is the better fit if …

  • you want to decide exactly which pages the assistant answers from, including pages on other domains, and add Golden answers for sensitive questions.
  • you want numbered source links under answers and a chat in 9 languages, from German to Farsi, plus Easy language (Leichte Sprache); Kyros offers both.
  • the same assistant should also answer on other websites or through the REST API, with the same settings and the same moderation.
  • the chat should take callback requests: with an Interactive Card (Beta) whose submissions are stored per Card and can be exported as CSV.

Wix chatbot FAQ

Is there a Kyros app in the Wix App Market?

No. Kyros has no Wix app and no native Wix integration. You add the Kyros code to your site yourself: the floating bubble as a <script> under Settings → Custom Code with the placement “Body – end,” and the inline frame as an <iframe> in an “Embed HTML” element. What you will find in the Wix App Market is Wix’s own chat tool, Wix Smart Chat, which you install with “Add to Site” (as of October 1, 2026).

Does the Kyros chatbot work on a free Wix site?

Not the floating bubble. For custom code, Wix requires a published site with a connected domain, and according to Wix you can only connect your own domain on a Premium or Studio site plan. For the inline frame via “Embed HTML,” Wix’s help article names no plan requirement, but we haven’t tested it on a free site. Check it before you rely on it (as of October 1, 2026).

Does it work with Wix Studio?

We haven’t verified that. Wix lists Studio site plans alongside Premium plans as a requirement for connecting your own domain. The Wix custom code guide this page relies on, however, is written for the Wix Editor, and we didn’t find a separate article for Wix Studio. In your Studio site’s dashboard, check whether Settings includes “Custom Code,” and test the bubble on the published site.

The Wix chatbot doesn’t appear. What should I check?

Open the published site on its connected domain. Check that the code’s “Place Code in” setting is “Body – end” and that it’s assigned to all pages. If it sits in a category that loads only after consent, the chat appears only once visitors agree. After a domain change, Wix deletes the code. If you’ve listed domains under “Website access” in Kyros, your Wix domain must be on the list. Since December 2025, Wix may also block some snippets. If none of this helps, contact us.

What should I know about data protection for a Wix chatbot?

Wix categorizes custom code as “essential” by default: it loads before visitor consent and visitors can’t turn it off. Decide on the category together with your data protection officer. On the Kyros side, the API and database are hosted in Germany (Frankfurt), but the provider of the chosen AI model also processes each message, not always in Germany. A DPA (Art. 28 GDPR) is available, every widget has a privacy panel, and according to its privacy policy Kyros doesn’t use customer data to train AI models.

What does an AI chatbot for Wix with Kyros cost?

The Kyros Starter plan is €0, permanently, with no credit card required. It includes one assistant with a chat widget and monthly credits. Every message uses credits; Kyros shows how many for each model before you choose it. Pro and Business are available on request. Then there’s Wix: the floating bubble needs a Premium or Studio site plan with a connected domain. Wix lists the current prices for those.
