Userlike alternative: Kyros and Lime Connect (formerly Userlike) compared
Userlike was renamed Lime Connect in 2025, and the old Userlike addresses redirect to the new site. This page compares documented features and prices with Kyros, with a date and sources.
Userlike still exists, just under a new name: since 2025, the product has been called Lime Connect, and userlike.com now redirects to connect.lime-technologies.com. Whether you need a Userlike alternative depends on what you’re looking for. If your team wants to chat with visitors itself, Lime Connect is still an obvious choice. If you want an AI assistant that answers recurring questions from your web pages and shows its sources, Kyros is an alternative.
What happened to Userlike
Lime Connect is headquartered in Cologne, Germany, and is part of Lime Technologies AB. The vendor’s pages list the product as “Lime Connect (ex Userlike).” At its core, it’s a customer communication platform: a shared inbox (“Message Center”) brings together website chat, WhatsApp, email and other messaging channels. On top of that come an AI agent that hands conversations to staff with full context, a Copilot for your team, video calls and live translation.
How Kyros differs
Kyros isn’t a live chat tool. It’s an AI assistant for your website or, via REST API, for your own application. It answers from the pages whose URLs you list and from Golden answers you write yourself. Answers that draw on your pages show numbered source links. Kyros has no team inbox, no messaging channels and no handoff to staff.
What both have in common
Both companies are based in Germany and host there: Lime Connect says it stores chat data on Hetzner servers in Falkenstein, and Kyros runs its API and database in Frankfurt. With Kyros, the provider of the AI model you choose also processes each message, not always in Germany. Both offer a data processing agreement (DPA, “AVV” in German) and a free plan. So where the API and database are hosted isn’t a differentiator here.
Userlike reviews: what this page is and isn’t
This page is published by Kyros, one of the two vendors compared. It isn’t a collection of user reviews. It compares documented features and prices as of October 1, 2026, with links to Lime Connect’s own pages. Review sites are the better place for other users’ experiences, and a test with your own real questions tells you the most.
What Kyros does differently
Kyros focuses on an AI assistant that answers from your content. These features are part of it.
Answers with sources
Kyros answers from the pages you list and from Golden answers. Answers drawn from your pages show numbered “Further Links.” Whether Lime Connect’s AI agent shows sources to visitors is not documented (as of October 1, 2026).
Draft, Publish, Version history
Changes to the assistant’s settings go live only when you click “Publish.” Up to 200 versions are kept, so you can compare them and restore an earlier one when needed.
9 languages plus Easy language
The widget speaks German, English, Ukrainian, Arabic, Turkish, Russian, Polish, French and Farsi, with Arabic and Farsi right-to-left. It also offers Easy language (Leichte Sprache), which doesn’t replace checked texts.
AI notice and privacy panel
Every widget permanently shows “AI-generated — responses may be inaccurate.” Under “Privacy,” the “Using our chatbot” panel covers data, purpose, retention and processor.
Moderation before the model
Incoming messages are checked before the model sees them. Withheld messages don’t reach the model. Moderation is on for every new assistant.
AI on the free plan
The Starter plan is €0, permanently, with no credit card, and includes one assistant with a chat widget. Every message uses credits; each model shows its credits per message before you choose it.
